The prospect of pony ownership can be daunting for parents, particularly with the cost and commitment to maintain such a large and dependent pet seven days a week.
Our innovative Pony Pals scheme allows you to lease-hire (loan) a carefully suited riding school pony to your child for however long desired, with just one month’s notice required to cancel. Available as half or full shares, it’s a safe, fun, cost-effective way to step into horse ownership with experts on hand to help.
The set monthly fee of £250 (half share) or £500 (full share) includes absolutely everything involved with the purchasing and keeping of a pony.
This amount includes all daily care, veterinary and farrier expenses, insurance, equipment and complimentary supervised sessions for your child.
The only additional costs are those which you decide to spend on lessons and activities – which as a Pony Pals owner have a further generous 20% discount attached against our Member prices.
The other great thing about Pony Pals is the social aspect of owning a pony at Lavant House Stables. Safety of your child – first and foremost as usual; firm friendships formed with others of similar age, ability and passionate interest; being around equestrian-orientated grown-ups who have a natural empathy with children; purpose-built surroundings for children and ponies; plus absolutely loads going on all of the time to intrigue your child, gain their confidence and rapidly advance their horsemanship skills.
